Does Larry Craig have a problem with skin chafing?

Crossposted from Left Toon Lane, Bilerico Project & My Left Wing

Seriously, with all the tail Larry Craig is getting, ya gotta wonder how he controls the chafing?

Tis the season for Gay revelations it seems. With the months being named by Wonkette, Cocktober eased into Blowvember (that sounded bad) and now we have kicked off Dickcember with the new Larry Craig Gay sex allegations.

From ABC News:

Craig's list of accusers is getting longer.

Two men, including a former male escort, have confirmed to ABC News the allegations that they've had sexual encounters with Idaho's embattled Sen. Larry Craig.

Mike Jones, 50, told ABC News that Craig paid him $200 for sex during the winter of 2004-2005.

A second man, a 50-year old former Army captain, also told ABC News that Craig made sexual advances toward him in the men's room of a Republican gathering in Washington state in 1981.

The men were two of eight new people who claimed encounters with Craig in an article published Sunday by the Idaho Statesman newspaper.

Eight more guys and one of them is a former officer in the US Army? Does Idaho have an out-of-control public bathhouse in Larry's basement?

Oh, and the Idaho Statesman has AUDIO TAPES!

With this trend in place, I can pretty much predict we will NEVER hear of Larry Craig having an illegitimate child... you need to have sex with a woman for one of those.

GOP = Gay. Out. Proud.

Exactly one week ago, I ran a strip pondering when the next GOP sex scandal would happen (see Hot Buttery GOP Action). Well, it didn't take long.

From the AP:

OLYMPIA, Wash. (AP) — A state lawmaker who has voted against gay rights resigned Wednesday, days after he was quoted in police reports as saying a man he had sex with after they met at an erotic video store was trying to blackmail him.

Rep. Richard Curtis, 48, said he was resigning immediately to spare his wife and children more public embarrassment. In a written statement, Curtis said, "Events that have recently come to light have hurt a lot of people. I sincerely apologize for any pain my actions may have caused."

Curtis, a Republican, told a newspaper in his southwest Washington district on Monday that sex was not involved in what he said was an extortion attempt. He also declared he was not gay.

But in police reports, Curtis said he was being extorted by a man he had sex with at a hotel room in Spokane, where Curtis was attending a GOP retreat. The other man, Cody Castagna, 26, contends Curtis reneged on a promise to pay $1,000 for sex.

CNN is reporting that the police report on this incident is FIFTY PAGES LONG! That I must find. It will make great reading.

So where does that leave us? Well more proof that the GOP has suckered the Religious Right all this time. I wonder when they will wake up? The rest of us have our eyes open.

Iran has a long history of using pastels!

Again, Ahmadinejad’s idiot comments about the non-existance of Gays in Iran is just as stupid as damn near anything Reich Marshal Bush has to say.

Of course, it could be a back-handed compliment. Ahmadinejad may have meant there were no Gays in Iran because they all went courageously to Iraq to fight the occupiers.

Nah.

Republicans and Compassionate Hedonism

You can’t throw a dental dam these days without hitting a Gay Republican.

We have all heard of the old saw about those “who protest too much.” It only 10% of that is true, the GOP must be the biggest hotbed of suppressed homosexual activity the planet has ever known. Forget about the Greeks and the Romans, the Republicans must be swinging like no one ever has.

To me, this explains the big secret the Log Cabin Republicans have been withholding - they know where all the boas are hidden.

Bill Richardson: not a man of science.

Crossposted from Left Toon Lane, Bilerico Project & My Left Wing

He blames his faux pas on jet lag, but I don’t believe a word of it.

During the Democratic debate on the Gay-centric network, Logo, Bill Richardson was asked if he believed homosexuality was something you are born with or is it a lifestyle choice. He said it was a choice… twice.

I am getting very, very tired of people running for office who lack BASIC scientific skills and curiosity. Homosexuality is not something that a few humans opt to engage in, but it is something that occurs with all mammals and most of the animal kingdom. It has been reported in Time, Newsweek and on all major news outlets - how Richardson could have missed this is anyone’s guess.

The whole incident brings up the issue of what else Richardson doesn’t know? Does he really know how to get out of Iraq? Does he really know what the Centers For Disease Control is supposed to do? How about Los Alamos? Will he be able to fix NASA? That will take some brains - educated brains.

The next debate for Richardson should be on “Are You Smarter Than a 5th Grader.”

From the looks of it, that is where we need to start with him.

Christian Fundamentalists Move To Embrace Hate Speech

Remember, this is part of Bush's base:

A hate crimes bill passed by the House yesterday, extending coverage to people victimized because of sexual orientation, gender identity or disability, is attracting opposition from an unusual coalition of Christian leaders.

Proponents say the bill - similar to one the Senate is expected to pass in the next few weeks - is a moral imperative. But some Christians are depicting it as a "thought crimes" bill attacking 1st Amendment freedoms of speech and religion. A coalition of evangelical, fundamentalist and black religious leaders is mounting a furious assault on the bill, airing television ads and mobilizing members to stop its progress. President Bush has said he might veto the measure.

If the bill, approved 237-180, were to become law, they say, a pastor could be held liable for giving a sermon against homosexuality if a listener later attacked a gay individual .

Maybe preachers should stop with the Gay bashing? Hate crime is not a Constitutional right.

The bill's supporters say that such an assertion is nonsense, and that a sermon could never be considered an inducement to violence unless it explicitly advocated it.

In addition to broadening the federal definition of a hate crime victim, the law provides funds so that local authorities can request federal assistance for prosecutions in the aftermath of a hate crime.

I think White Fundamentalist Christians are just mad because they can't lynch Blacks anymore.

Oh, and the clincher:

"This legislation strikes at the heart of free speech and freedom of religious expression," said Andrea Lafferty, executive director of the Traditional Values Coalition.

When did murdering gays become religious expression?

Ultimate Anderson Cooper Cage Match

I was really impressed with the Anderson Cooper's "What Is A Christian?" series. And I am thinking you just can't make this shit up.

TOM FOREMAN, CNN CORRESPONDENT (voice-over): In the beginning, an explosion rocked the cosmos, and the universe was born. Primitive life crawled from an ooze, mutating, changing. Dinosaurs lived, died, left nothing but bones. And evolution rolled on, until millions of years later.

Science tells us that's what happened. But what if it's wrong? What if another story, a very old one, is right?

(on camera): So, this is the Garden of Eden, and you have dinosaurs in the Garden of Eden?

KEN HAM, FOUNDER, CREATION MUSEUM: That's true, because God made the land animals on day six. He made...

FOREMAN (voice over): Ken Ham is the founder of a $27 million Creation Museum set to open on Memorial Day in rural Kentucky. The message: God made the Earth, the heavens, and everything in them in just six days, just 6,000 years ago.

Can you believe $27 million for this? How many people will that feed I wonder?

Then there is the hot topic of homosexuality and how they think "therapy and prayer" can solve that.

TUCHMAN: At Love Won Out, self-proclaimed ex-gays like Haley (ph) and Fryrear enthusiastically regale the crowd with their personal stories.

Dr. Joseph Nicolosi is at the center of this. He's an unorthodox Catholic psychologist. He runs the National Association for the Research and Therapy of Homosexuality.

NICOLOSI: Homosexuality, as we said, is a gender-identity problem.

TUCHMAN: Nicolosi concludes boys can become gay if they don't get enough attention from their fathers or if they were abused as children.

NICOLOSI: The guy with a homosexual problem does not trust men. When he begins to trust men, his homosexuality disappears.

WTF?
