They could have rammed one with deadlines right through committee, just like the GOP has done for years and then have a vote on a Bill with deadlines. Yes, it may not have passed, but at least the Dems would have done the right thing and still been in the position of power. Now it is going to be another year in that God-forsaken desert. Will Iraq be safe once "Shiadelic September" arrives? Nope, that is just when the Pentagon will BEGIN evaluating to see whether the surge did any good. And when is that report due? March, 2008.
